Soil, Water, Atmosphere

Bachelor's 3 years English
  • Climate
  • Nature

Are you curious about everything from groundwater flow deep in the earth to turbulence generated high in the atmosphere? Do you want to know more about how we can use our soils sustainably for food and nature? Do you want to learn how we can provide drinking water sustainably for everyone on earth? And do you want to contribute to a better world using the natural sciences approach? Choose for the bachelor’s programme Soil, Water, Atmosphere!

What will you study during this Bachelor’s?

How does climate change affect the soil, water, and air? What can we do to manage and use our environment in a more sustainable way? If you are fascinated by the world around you and have an interest in physics, maths, chemistry, and geography, you will fit right in.

You learn to look at every process on earth through a scientific lens: from the soil beneath your feet to the atmosphere above. You will soon be able to recognise different soils and learn how we can use them in a sustainable way. Use hydrology to calculate how rain and drinking water extraction affect the groundwater level. By learning about meteorology, discover the relationship between different cloud types and weather patterns. This English-taught programme literally brings you down to earth.

Thanks to your knowledge of the relationship between soil, water, and atmosphere, you will soon be contributing to a sustainable and healthy world!

Why this programme?

  • Discover with physics, chemistry and mathematics how processes connect soil, water and atmosphere at Earth’s surface.
  • Practical research at its core: combine field work, lab experiments, computer simulations and data analysis to unravel Earth’s processes.
  • From classroom to global impact: apply your knowledge and problem-solving skills to challenges in water management, climate adaptation, and sustainable land use.
